‘The Global Strikers’ My Very First (and very Fabulous) Birchbox

Did I pick a good month to join Birchbox or what?  Yes it’s true, I’ve “defected” to the Birchbox side. If you’ve followed beauty & le chic for a while you’ll know I was a Glossybox devotee from the start. They started strong but soon went downhill. Disappointment, after disappointment, I finally cancelled my subscription. I’ve been keeping my eye on Birchbox as a potential replacement for a little while. It certainly seems a lot more consistent?? And when the ‘Global Strikers’ box (£10+p&p) started popping up in my blog/instagram feed, the decision was made.
The Global Strikers box is, of course, paying homage to the World Cup. It’s filled with top beauty players from across the globe plus a couple of cute Brazilian extras in the form a green drawstring pouch and Brazilian inspired Birchbox keyring.
Beauty Blender + Blender Cleanser Solid | Full Size £26

Of all the products up for grabs in this month’s box, this is the one I wanted the most. The original beauty blender is an ingenious egg-shaped make-up sponge that ensures flawless makeup application plus a solid soap to clean it. This bright pink sponge has always intrigued me so I’m really looking forward to trying it.
O.P.I Nail Polish mini from the Brazil Collection | Full size £11.95
Looks like I hit the jackpot with this one too. There are some weird and wonderful shades in the Brazil Collection, this is one of the more wearable ones. Samba-Dy Loves Purple is a vivid orchid shade with a “liquid sand” texture. I quickly swatched on my little finger and it’s a winner.
Naobay Body Radiance lotion 30 ml | Full Size £14/250ml
This Spanish brand is new on me but it’s natural, organic, recyclable, biodegradable and smells lush!
Caudalie Vinoperfect SPF 15 Day Perfecting Fluid 10ml | Full Size £38/40ml
Another star product I was chuffed to see. I love Caudalie – beauty elixir, divine oil, vinoperfect serum, they’ve never let me down so I’ve got suitably high expectations for this moisturiser which promises to hydrate, brighten and even skintone.
The Balm How 'Bout Them Apples? Cheek & Lip Cream in Pie Sample Size | Full Size Palette £29

So this is sweet, small, but sweet. I’ve never tried any of the Balm’s products but I’ve seen them featured on US blogs and always liked the look of them. Pie is a rosy apple coloured balm for lips and cheeks. Dab on with fingertips – it’s as easy as (apple) pie! It may be super small but that means hand bag friendly!
I am super impressed with my first Birchbox. Nails, makeup, skincare, bodycare... it has the lot! Find out how to subscribe to Birchbox here
